Station Road looking towards shops, further down the road was the rialto cinema.
The Albion Pub looking towards the Fish and Chip Shop. This fish shop was owned by a couple called Staines in the 50s, they sold great Fish and Chips. There were 3 Fish shops in Clayton, the one in the photo, one on Bradford Road opposite the Gatehouse WMC and one on Station Road just a bit further down from the Little Hut Sweet Shop. If I remember, the one on Bradford Road Burnt Down
View towards the middle school from the Albion, there used to be a barbers where the yellow mini is parked.
The junior school where I went in early 50s, the headmaster was a Mr. Wilson. The School has since been converted into private housing.

Shops at the juction of Nursery Road and Station Road. The shop behind the red car, in the middle of the picture, was a grocers. In the 50s it was called Gallons, the chap who had it was known to everyone as Harry Gallon although his name was Harry Wood and he lived in the row of houses behind the new infants school.
